It’ s Not Stress Eating

The non- fiction book of Elizabeth Gilbert is now in the big screen. In the movie, Julia Roberts puts on Gilbert’s shoes as she travels Italy, India, and Indonesia in search of herself. The character is a 34 year old novelist and journalist who’d been recently divorced and is now travelling the world for enlightenment.

Sure, the views are scenic, the food looks great and the romance part is not lacking in sex appeal in the form of Javier Bardem but all that is eclipsed by the struggle that is portrayed by the lead character. Gilbert even admits that she had serious emotional and spiritual issues and that she came close to actually killing herself. The success of the book is understandable since Gilbert’s life is a mirror to millions of women who have loved and lost, and loved then lost again and to top it all off, losing yourself at the time when you’re really trying to find who you are.
